LE DIECI 'CASTELLA'(the ten castles)
In the hills surrounding the area where the agriturismo is located, it is possible to find ten unique villages, all well preserved, full of arches, narrow streets and porches. Pietrabuona, Medicina, Fibbialla, Aramo, San Quirico, Castelvecchio and its Romanesque Church, Stiappa, Pontito, Sorana, well known for its delicious white beans, and finally the old county town named Vellano, are small marvelous mediaeval villages which definitely are worth a visit. This untouched area is full of natural and historical attractions which are still not known by most part of tourists.

COLLODI
Birthplace of the writer Carlo Lorenzini. It is known throughout the world because of the park dedicated to Pinocchio. While visiting the park, it is also possible, according to weather, to be part of a lot of cultural events, such as exhibitions of paintings, or comics inspired by books for children, puppet and storyteller shows. Two things which are also worth a visit are Villa Garzoni and the Butterfly House. The Agriturismo Le Fontanacce is only 5 km away from the park. MONTECARLO
It is definitely one of the most fascinating and unique mediaeval villages, whose historical center, still well preserved and surrounded by its marvelous city walls. Montecarlo is located in an isolated hill, surrounded by a green area. Known for its high quality wines, it is also part of one of the most important areas in Tuscany for oil.

MONTECATINI TERME
Montecatini Terme is known throughout Europe for its unique thermal baths. It is located in a wonderful valley full olive trees and flowers, and it internationally known as one of the most evocative areas in Tuscany. Its thermal water pours from numerous springs at a temperature that is between 24 and 34 degrees, and it is generally used both for hydropinic therapy and for beauty treatments. Finally enjoy visiting the Liberty style buildings that are located in the area, both in Montecatini Terme and in Montecatini Alto. MONSUMMANO TERME
The thermal cave Giusti, also named "The eight h wonder" after Giuseppe Verdi, is a natural paradise full of stalactites and stalagmites, inside of which it is possible to see a unique small expanse of thermal water with its therapeutical steam. Next to the cave there is a large swimming pool whose water has a temperature of about 36 degrees. Finally you can find hydromassage therapy and tanning beds to enjoy relax and wellbeing also in wintertime.


LO ZOO DI PISTOIA
Pistoia zoo is located in the suburbs and it is more than 7 hectars large. You can find more than 400 animals (mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles) together with numerous types of plants. Pistoia zoo is also nationally known for the cultural activities it promotes, such as the laboratory of biodiversity, which gives the opportunity to both adults and kids to have fun while knowing more about nature itself.

PISA
FYou will be charmed by Pisa and its unique and enchanting Miracle Square with the marvelous cathedral, which has been recently named common heritage of mankind, together with the impressive Leaning Tower and the baptistery. The city is located along the banks of the river Arno. Finally treat yourself to a nice walk in the city center, you will find shops together with numerous artistic beauties.



FIRENZE
FFlorence with its priceless heritage of historical buildings, paintings, sculptures, is like a downright museum. The beating heart of Florence is Piazza della Signoria, with its imposing Old Palace (Palazzo Vecchio), its sculpture masterpieces under the Loggia dei Lanzi and the Uffizi Gallery nearby, one of the most important museums throughout the world. The center of Florence, with its hundreds of shops owned by local artisans, is paradise for those who want to relax and go shopping, from the elegant boutiques and the historical cafés, to the lively open markets.

LUCCA / VERSILIA
Lucca is one of the most important towns of artistic interest in Italy. It is famous for its perfectly preserved city walls that date back to 15th -17th century, now turned into a unique promenade for pedestrians of all ages. Lucca's city walls are one of the best preserved in Europe because they have never been used as a defensive mean. As a consequence of this, the historical center as well is undamaged, so it is still possible to visit all most valuable buildings that were once built, such as numerous mediaeval churches.
